To make a long story short: Curve is (as of this writing) now only an online launch. You can check out the FB event here, Brainlag’s Twitch stream at www.twitch.tv/brainlagbooks, and of course there is the obligatory pre-order reminder. I hope to see you at the launch! I will be doing at least one reading, possibly two (I will prepare two, anyway) and there will be an interview in which I attempt to maximise audience enjoyment and minimize my own awkwardness. So, you know, the uszh!
Part of me would very much like to write about the feeling of disappointment I am swimming in right now. But as that’s probably better saved for my therapist, please enjoy the painting that I made for the cover, with the intention of bringing it to the book launch like some sort of (design) boss.
It’s a combination of acrylic paint and sand for texture. The sand gave it an unexpected effect of being very matte, and so when the light hits it at different angles, the colours seem to change, in a way that is hard to capture with a camera.
(Maybe I’ll figure out a way to get it into the background of the stream.)
