{"id":624,"date":"2018-09-01T10:00:59","date_gmt":"2018-09-01T14:00:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/victoriafeistner.com\/?p=624"},"modified":"2019-03-11T17:05:36","modified_gmt":"2019-03-11T21:05:36","slug":"rejection-challenge-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/victoriafeistner.com\/blog\/2018\/09\/01\/rejection-challenge-update\/","title":{"rendered":"Rejection Challenge Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At 11pm last night&#8211;at 11pm <em>on my birthday<\/em> and also the last night of <a href=\"http:\/\/victoriafeistner.com\/index.php\/2017\/09\/01\/a-year-in-review-2017\/\">my fiscal year<\/a>&#8211;I got my<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\">100th REJECTION<\/h1>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/giphy.com\/embed\/snquKBok4kEA8\" width=\"480\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>I started the Challenge on January 1st, thinking that if I really pushed myself to put out 10 submissions a month, I would hit 100 in October, giving me two months to collect all 100 rejections. Instead I hit 107 by the end of August! Two of those were acceptances, and 5 are still pending!<\/p>\n<p>We don&#8217;t always talk about how hard it can be submitting fiction, and so I&#8217;ve gotten a lot of weird glances and awkward silences when telling people my stats. But I don&#8217;t care.
