I’m about a week in to my NaNo prep bootcamp<\/a>, and still learning the ins and outs of Patreon. On the one hand, it’s a little scary; unlike FB and this blog I know that there are people reading my Patreon content seriously. (They are paying for the privilege, after all.) That knowledge did stress me out before the launch. But now that I’ve written a few posts and fallen into a rhythm, mostly that stress has faded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(There was on whoopsie where I crossed my own wires and wrote a post a day early and then had to delete it. I figure if there is any time to work out kinks in the routine, it’s during the first week.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So I should say that it’s not the bootcamp itself I’m learning. After all, I’ve done this exact work a bunch of times; I’m merely collecting and collating my own NaNo prep process and only mentioning what I specifically do. I am an expert at my own process. (Whether this process will work for anyone else has yet to be seen, but I’ve had some enthusiastic response from some of the patrons so far, so that’s good.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I think what I am getting the most out of this project is a new enthusiasm. It’s getting me up and out of bed in the morning, and during this year of 2020 that’s something sorely needed. I’m brainstorming perk ideas on my socially distanced walks instead of fretting over the myriad of things that I can’t do anything about.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Editing work on Fletcher & Cooper<\/em> has lagged a bit due to illness (sinus cold last week and into this one) and any spare spoons have gone into my bootcamp. But now that I am on the mend, I am still hoping to start editing book 2 for November 1st, even if I have to skip ahead a little bit to do so (hopefully I won’t. Editing is so unpredictable.).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
