It’s that time again! I’m going to finish Fletcher & Cooper come hell or high water!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
AND THIS TIME I MEAN IT<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I am hereby giving myself official permission to write garbage–I might even make myself up a certificate to hang on the door. Whatever gets the job DONE. I want to hit ‘THE END’ by the end of July, dagnabit. Even if it’s a terrible, no good, very bad ending<\/strong>. I DON’T CARE. It can suck so bad it makes the rest of the novel retroactively terrible, as long as it’s FINISHED.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Space Crazies<\/em> is still with the editor, and no news is good news, so I should <\/em>get that back to me for the end of the month; I should<\/em> spend August prepping BOO for Pitch Wars and starting the revisions for Space Crazies<\/em>. Which means little time for F&C<\/em> until well into the fall so I might as well get a draft done so it can ferment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Plus, if I get to The End by July 31st, I am going to treat myself with a little present: a tattoo of “goals not dreams” (you know, my mantra). You heard it hear first, kids. <\/p>\n\n\n\n It’s been a garbage year so far, and in the spring I came really close to packing it all in and giving up. But I didn’t. I’m still here, and still making submission plans and editing goals, and the time feels right to honour that with a bit of ink.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n I don’t know if I can get F&C <\/em>done, I am terrible at plotting these things out, but I can do my best to plant my butt in my chair every day, and hopefully the plot threads will fall into place. It’s all I can do, and it’s not nothing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n So. Hi. Pull up a chair. Grab a notebook and a pencil, if you want.
